The project was born from the owners’ desire to reduce water consumption and to surround themselves with an environment more akin to the Monte Argentario area.
The lawns and slopes have been totally eliminated in favor of new terraces in local stone. The elimination of the slopes, of the lawn and the replacement of the old substrate with a draining substrate contribute to the drastic reduction of water consumption.
One of the most complex projects completed to date due to the difficult site logistics and heavy renovation work.
The renderings show the garden as it will be after a few years, while the photos show the work just completed, where it is immediately possible to admire the imposing structure given by the spherical evergreens. Evergreen shrubs such as Pistacia lentiscus or Phillyrea angustifolia, present in nature in the neighboring Mediterranean maquis, have been chosen in a spherical shape to emphasize the natural action of atmospheric agents. The sculptural forms of these plants observable in nature have been replicated in an anthropic environment, leaving room for elegant rocky elements, sinuous grasses, colorful perennials and succulents.
The result is a garden that knows how to take inspiration from the surrounding area while maintaining its very clear identity, on the border between the most ancient traditions of the Italian garden and the most virtuous modern conceptions of the sustainable garden.
