Terme Pompeo
Terme Pompeo: rhythm, sustainability, and wellness in the shade of plane trees.
This project was born with the ambitious intent of restoring new vitality to one of Italy’s most ancient and prestigious thermal parks.
The garden was not conceived as a simple backdrop, but fuses organically with the modern architecture of the new wellness wing. We wanted to create a continuous dialogue between the built and the natural, transforming the thermal break into an immersive experience.
Here, the greenery welcomes guests, offering scenarios that mutate over time, accompanying relaxation with the discreet and reassuring beauty of nature.
The paths were traced with the precise intent of valorizing the monumental existing plane tree grove.
These green giants are not obstacles, but the pillars around which the entire composition revolves. The paths invite slow exploration, leading the visitor to discover every corner of the park amidst light and shadow.
Their majesty protects the lightness of the new plantings, creating a powerful and poetic contrast between the stability of the ancient trunks and the perennial movement of the flowering undergrowth.
The rhythm of the planting is dictated by Pennisetum macrourum, used as a key structural plant that towers over the other species, creating a dynamic visual score.
We nestled it within an herbaceous community that ensures soft privacy and a soothing rustle.
This choice also responds to sustainable water management, worthy of our studio: the selected species are perfectly adapted to the local conditions and, depending on the season, can survive the summer with little to no irrigation, thus combining lush aesthetics with ecological responsibility.
This space was conceived as a living organism in continuous evolution. The images tell the story of its seasonal metamorphosis: from the graphic structures of winter to the explosions of summer color.
It is not a static picture, but a resilient ecosystem designed to last over time. It is the meeting point between botanical innovation and the tradition of wellness, where the care of the landscape becomes a gesture of respect towards the environment and towards those who experience it.
